Not Bad.

Today may be the last day of the holidays, but tacking making, Olympic dressage and a very annoying cat made for a pretty good morning.

This is all old tack but I had to dress my new stablemate up.

Schleich scale halters and a grazing muzzle. (I would be more than happy to offer similar sales pieces if there was interest.)

Narla is a palomino and palomino's look good in pink. Her Arab face is so tiny I had to make all the hardware for this halter from wire.

I really don't know how to show how fine this is. The noseband is less than 1cm jump ring to jump ring.

The annoying cat mentioned earlier.

Show Hunter @ Woodhill Sands.

It was a very informal show as you can see. All of the horses were unbraided, most were clipped, however.  Most of the riders weren't in show jackets either. The arena was pretty cut up ad soggy after the rain we have been having but the riders made it work and it was fun to watch.

I would be honoured if someone felt my photos were good enough to use as documentation, so please do. If you would like to reblog anything just ask. (I will say yes.)

Keep Trying.

Slow Progress is better than no progress at all. That's what I tell myself when I am going through a slow point in my tack making. Sometimes I have to look at my work and remind myself that I am doing just fine. My tack might not be LSQ but there are no live shows here and everyone started somewhere. I have come a long way from the felt and hot glue saddles I started with but there will always be days when I feel trapped in the 'everyone can do better than me, my tack is not good enough cycle' My tack is the best I can make it and that is good enough for me. I will still strive for better but sometimes you have to reward your self with a good enough.
